Dubai just opened the world’s first flying taxi station near DXB. 🚁🇦🇪

The future of urban transport is taking shape in Dubai, with the city’s first purpose-built electric air taxi station now completed near Dubai International Airport (DXB). It will serve as the main hub for Dubai’s planned flying taxi network.

🚁 The first of its kind globally
The 3,100-square-metre vertiport features take-off and landing pads, passenger facilities, security screening, and charging infrastructure.

⚡ Electric flying taxis
The network will initially use Joby Aviation’s electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, designed to carry one pilot and four passengers.

🏙️ Four key locations planned
The initial network is designed to connect DXB, Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina, and Palm Jumeirah.

⏱️ Dubai to Palm Jumeirah in around 10 minutes
The RTA says the aerial taxi could make the journey from Dubai International Airport to Palm Jumeirah in about 10 minutes, compared with roughly 45 minutes by car.

The commercial service is planned for 2026, subject to the necessary regulatory and certification requirements.
