öko skin slats offer a versatile approach to facade design. Three different surface finishes create striking tactile and visual contrasts, bringing vibrancy and character to the building envelope.

Alongside their design versatility, the slats offer practical benefits: they are easy to install, weather-resistant and require minimal maintenance. Their flexibility allows for bespoke facade solutions that combine functionality with aesthetics.

The “Smiltynės” administration and passenger building in Klaipėda, Lithuania, features concrete skin panels and formed parts in terra and off-white.

The individually manufactured elements not only define the appearance of the facade but also serve practical purposes. They provide effective solar shading and targeted privacy while maintaining views to the outside. At the same time, they create an intriguing interplay of transparency, cladding and spatial depth.

The building consists of two volumes connected by a bridge, with the ferry access road running beneath it.

The John Lewis Elementary School embraces sustainable, high-performance architecture that places student wellbeing at its heart. Flexible learning spaces, easy communication and a conscious connection to nature shape the concept by Perkins Eastman.

The facade reflects this approach: öko skin GFRC slats in different widths give the building envelope a rhythmic structure. The interplay of varied formats and surface finishes creates a dynamic visual effect and an engaging contrast across the outer shell.

A new 3,700 m² office and laboratory building has been completed at the Babraham Research Campus in Cambridge. The facade reflects the building’s clear architectural language while creating a subtle connection to the campus’s extensive green spaces.

Around 900 m² of GFRC panels were used for the building envelope. The sandstone-coloured elements create a restrained, homogeneous facade and blend harmoniously into the surrounding landscape. The material also delivers strong functional qualities: at just 13 mm thick, the panels are non-combustible, durable and low-maintenance.

𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

With the new Town House, Ahlen’s first building block of the Citizens’ Campus is taking shape between the city centre, city park and the River Werse. Designed by Ge**er Architekten, the building responds to this unique urban context with an elongated, angled structure whose three stepped volumes define the silhouette of the ensemble.

The facade plays a particularly important role: around 2,000 m² of Rieder formparts in the sahara colour transform the building envelope into a three-dimensional relief. Vertical pilasters and horizontal parapets create projections and recesses, resulting in a nuanced interplay of depth and shadow.

The Koralmbahn creates a new connection between Styria and Carinthia and represents a major step forward in modern rail infrastructure. Along the 130 km new railway line, the facade of the railway station in Groß St. Florian stands out with its clear, minimalist architectural language.

For the station, 3,800 m² of concrete skin panels were used. The large-format, 13 mm-thin GFRC elements create a calm, continuous facade appearance while combining robustness, weather resistance and non-combustibilty with easy installation and low maintenance requirements.

Different surface finishes create a captivating interplay of texture and colour, offering a diverse range of visual and tactile impressions.

In addition to their aesthetic appeal, the 13 mm slim facade slats offer fire resistance, durability and minimal maintenance requirements.

The new service building of the Theresian Military Academy in Wiener Neustadt features large-format GFRC elements in chrome, giving the building its distinctive outer envelope.
The continuous materiality creates a calm, homogeneous appearance and enables a consistent surface design across the entire facade. At the same time, the material offers extensive design freedom while delivering robust performance. Beyond its high-quality appearance, the material combines fire resistance with durability and excellent weather resistance.

𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

The existing college building has been extended by two additional floors, providing valuable additional space for laboratories and classrooms. Across the building, shared lounges and quiet working areas create a diverse environment that supports both collaboration and focused individual work.

For the facade, the architects at The Collaborative selected a combination of öko skin slats and concrete skin panels in terra and ivory. The interplay of different surfaces within the same colour palette gives the building envelope a lively and varied appearance, while creating a cohesive architectural identity.

Beyond the visual qualities, the material is particularly well suited to the demands of educational buildings. GFRC is robust, durable, non-combustible and weather-resistant, while also offering ball-impact resistance, straightforward installation and low maintenance requirements.

𝗔 𝗵𝘂𝗯 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝗺𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗴.

At Holsteiner Kamp in Hamburg, an urban hub for trades and creative businesses has been created that brings together a diverse mix of uses under one roof. ‘Built in Barmbek’ provides space for workshops, studios, co-working areas, rehearsal rooms, small-scale manufacturing facilities and a high-tech makerspace. It offers start-ups and creative businesses the opportunity to develop, test and realise their ideas right in the heart of the city.

The four-storey building with a recessed fifth floor integrates naturally into its urban surroundings. Its facade plays a key role in defining the building’s robust and contemporary character. Around 1,300 m² of concrete skin panels in terra were used for the building envelope. The large-format panels create a distinctive, monolithic appearance while maintaining a slim material thickness of just 13 mm. In addition to their aesthetic qualities, the panels are non-combustible, weather-resistant, robust and durable.
