THE END OF AN ERA 🏗️
After more than 35 years in the crane hire industry, the time has come for a new chapter for Williams Cranes & Rigging.
Smiley and Launa have made the decision to begin their well-deserved retirement, and with that, we will be winding down our general crane hire operations, with our final day being Friday, 13 November 2026.
For more than three decades, Williams Cranes has been so much more than just a business. It has been a huge part of our family's lives, built through years of hard work, determination, early mornings, long days and an unwavering commitment to the people who have supported us along the way.
We are incredibly proud of what we've built, but even more so of the people we've had the privilege of sharing the journey with.
To our employees, past and present, thank you for the hard work, loyalty, dedication and countless memories. From the early starts and challenging lifts to the laughs and friendships along the way, each of you has played a part in making Williams Cranes what it is today. We couldn't have done it without you.
To our customers, suppliers and industry friends, some of whom have been with us for decades, thank you for your continued trust and support. You've given us the opportunity to do what we do best, time and time again. Many of these working relationships have turned into genuine friendships, and that's something we'll always be grateful for.
Above all, we've always taken great pride in our reputation, the quality of our work and the relationships we've built. We hope that when people look back on Williams Cranes, they'll remember not just the cranes and the jobs we've completed, but the people behind them.
This decision has been made entirely on our own terms. After so many years dedicated to the business, it's time for Smiley and Launa to enjoy a different pace of life, a little more travelling, some cycling adventures and, hopefully, a few less early mornings!
While our general crane hire chapter is coming to an end, our site crane hire operations will continue, and Grace will remain involved in the business.
It's certainly a bittersweet moment, but one we approach with an enormous sense of pride and gratitude.
To everyone who has been part of the Williams Cranes story, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Here's to more than 35 years of hard work, great people, lifelong friendships and memories that will last well beyond our final lift.
With love and appreciation,
Smiley, Launa, Grace & the Williams Cranes team.
