Chee Lam Design

The Royal Botanic Gardens of Sydney engaged us to design their flagship ‘Garden Shop’. Previously operated by a third party, the new shop heralds a new retail strategy for the gardens by taking back ownership of the shop’s operations. Our design leverages the existing architecture of the building to create a strong visual datum for retail display, heightening the appreciation of the surrounding gardens and amplifying the floating ceiling plane. The black background heroes the retail display whilst a new lighting system and mobile floor displays allow for ongoing flexibility.

It’s finally open!

We were chuffed to be present for the official opening and to see people wandering through the new and to see our clients occupying their new premises.

We designed and - a fresh seafood retailer and a restaurant/bar respectively. We are so excited for our clients and wish them every success in the new building!
