Akasha furniture was founded in the 1980's with the first shop being located in the Brisbane Queens Arcade, where the Myer building now stands. Business grew steadily and a regular clientele of local and interstate customers was developed. Over the years they have opened a number of rug stores, and later after much consideration and market research, the move to combine rugs and furniture was made
