Back at it again and it’s been far too long.
Can’t even remember when I began this triptych piece but perfect day outside to start finishing it off.

This one has been sitting on the bench for far too long. So good to finish this off this weekend!
Will add to the list of pieces needing a border

Loved getting back into wood shop this weekend and free designing this piece.
After being away from woodworking for a while I forgot how enjoyable it is to just let the creative process take over and see where it takes you.
Border and final coat to come

Blue Sky #2
I think I used up all my creativity on creating the Blue Sky Series with not much left to name each piece. #2 though is definitely one of my favourites of the series.
Designing this piece to utilise off cut triangles and work them into this new shape was definitely a fun challenge and love how this one turned out.

Very excited to share my first ever series collection, The Blue Sky series!!
This series was inspired and created with optimism front of mind knowing the Blue Sky will return. A good Australian summer was getting closer and Melbourne was going to open up and life will begin to return to normal after more time in lockdown.
With this in mind I will be donating 25% of all sales of The Blue Sky Series to campaign. All 7 pieces are available now via my Etsy page:
https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/WoodchuckinandBeyond
I hope you enjoy this series as much as I did creating it and can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it.

Blue Sky Series is coming!
My first ever series will be released on 10 November 2021.
Inspired by the fact that life has changed or been impacted so greatly the past couple of years however the optimist in me always believes Blue Skies and our way of life will return.

Been a little quiet on here this past month in prepping my first ever series collection.
But I had to join in on the October challenge by thinking a little different and choosing to use light and being October create a Halloween piece for
Had a lot of fun and learnt some good lessons on this piece… including my jigsaw skills need some practice but thankfully a Jack-o-Lantern face doesn’t need to be perfect.

Completed my challenge piece today.
Enjoyed the challenge the team put together for September, completing a piece with no stain or colours to show off the natural beauty of the timber.
Putting the blow torch and brushes down on this piece and searched through all the various timber we had around the house. Utilising a mix of timber and edge, end and face grain pieces was able to create this natural beauty.
P.S Sammy as always inspecting for quality 🤣

Absolutely love how this piece came out despite needing a border.
I saw this pattern while looking for inspiration and knew it would be a challenge to complete so decided while in to give it a shot.
Finished this blue guy off today.
Enjoyed layering this piece between the different depths of the wood I had on hand and of course the Shou Sugi Ban finish
