Last night had a returning customer come in for brakes!

This clean standard example of a GRS204 in for some new pads and rotors!

Customer had prepaid through me for a set of street series DBA rotors and pads. Smashed them all out last night!

Customer definitely loved living life on the edge especially with front brake pads 😂😂 though he’s definitely happy now with new stuff!

A quick community job, on a local community page, someone had accidentally smashed their passenger door mirror on their Honda HRV.

They asked on Facebook for someone to help fit their replacement mirror so I reached out to them and they’ve come to me to have their mirror fitted!

Had them quickly in and out the door in less than 5min to keep them back on the road!

Very happy customer indeed!!

On today’s episode…

Last night a customer dropped his vehicle off for its 180ish k km service. Customer wanted to carry out a spark plug replacement along with whatever was going to be involved in the removal & refitting of the intake manifold.

Here we have a GWS204 Crown Hybrid;

Customer supplied new intake manifold gasket, new throttle body seal, new spark plugs and new air filter. Whilst myself, supplied engine oils, Liquimoly oil flush & oil additive, cabin filter, oil filter & diff oil.

Upon removing intake manifold, had also carried out a quick clean & wipe out of the throttle body too!

Bit more involved with spark plug replacement on a hybrid but customer wanted it done. With those stuff out of the way, car starts & runs beautifully and rolls along the road smoothly!

Today the daily commute workhorse needed some love too, to some who know me in a Toyota guy at heart but I like Hondas too.

The Odyssey, long overdue for some rotors and pads, managed to snag up a full set of DBA Street Series Rotors & Pads and had them fitted up in no time, finally some smooth braking and no warpage feel!

A reliable workhorse needs TLC too!

Last night had 2 cars show up for service which one was carried out this morning.

First up, my own sisters car.

2016 Mini Cooper in for a service
Service consisted of fresh engine oil, new genuine oil filter & filter cap, new front wipers and genuine brake fluid replacement. Liquimoly engine flush & Friction reducer was used also!

Brake fluid came out super dirty so happy it has fresh genuine fluid in it now aswell!

Lastly a GRS204 came to me, this car was sourced by Ryota from AcrossJPN. Customer came to me to get its 100k service done. Service consisted of, Nulon engine oil, genuine air filter, RYCO oil filter and brand new NGK spark plugs! Did a complimentary throttle body clean, polished & waxed the headlights too.

This car also had Liquimoly engine flush & Friction reducer used!

Both customers safe to say are super happy with outcome!😎👌

This morning had the pleasure replacing the factory side steps on this ML350 with replacements supplied by customer, they are non genuine so the fit was pretty average however customer didn’t really care so much as they were in much better condition than the ones that were on the car!

Tonight’s agenda…. Sunroof seal replacement on Ivan’s Lexus ISF.

Genuine Lexus/Toyota sunroof seal he provided to me and we got right to work, out came the glass, cleaned up the glass and removed seal, refit new seal, fine tune and adjusting so the sunroof goes through all motions without interruptions… till it goes flat… 🤣🤣

Do not try this at home kids( Yes I was at home)
Ivan’s battery started going flat… so had to makeshift with a Milwaukee high amp 5.0A Battery and 2 kitchen forks…. Definitely started the car alright 🤣🤣

Last night I had a job turn up aswell to get a few bits & bobs done.

GWS204 in for regular maintenance. Customer supplied fluids and filters. Brand new RYCO air filter, oil filter and cabin filter, with Nulon engine oil!

Customer had a concern with front coilovers being a bit uneven in terms of ride, upon inspection found that front left to right, height and preload were as unevenly set, which I had corrected for him and also raised slightly.

I had sourced brand new rotors and pads for the customer and fitted them up too, however upon final steps of completion, fitting brand new rear brake pads to the rear right caliper, the caliper was inspected and determined it was seized in position, therefore when new pads were fitted, caliper was dragging on the new rotor, therefore advised customer the bf vehicle had to be towed home. Premature wear was showing signs of uneven heat distribution on the inner side of the rotor and more wear on the inner brake pad too.

Sad to see the car having to go home this way but customer is on his way to sorting out a repair/replacement caliper. I was unfortunately unable to replace the caliper and perform the bleed and flush procedure as the vehicle requires Toyota specific software to do the bleed and flush of brake fluid process which I do not carry/have on hand.

Customer is definitely happy with my service and care but unfortunately it is sad to see this happen, customer is in process of dealing and organising the process of warranty work to be carried out by the previous people he’s purchased the car from.

Glad we caught the seized caliper now than later.

Drive safe everyone! Have a good weekend
