Alpha Kustom Lures

Morning All,

Just thought I’d share this set of recently completed Fizzers.

The ultimate Fizzer set covering anything from Bass right through to Barra…and everything in between.

120mm down to 60mm

Finished in a colour shift pearl paint over a black base, really accentuates the colours coming out of those pearls.

Hope everyone is going Ok.

Sometimes we have to take the positives out of the negatives, even though my hands/arms/shoulders are still fu$ked it’s forced me to slow down a lot with the lure making, and with that I feel as if the quality has stepped up a notch or 2.

For those starting out on your lure making journey I get that the excitement takes over, but sometimes it’s good to take that step back and assess what can be done better, whether it be extra sanding of the timber, or that extra coat of primer that needs that extra sand, or even that extra coat of clear to enhance the finish, or taking that extra bit of time when painting the eyes on etc.

For me I’m always learning and looking at doing things other ways to make those improvements patience is what I’m learning with this PTS…as patience definitely wasn’t/still isnt one of my strong points, just ask my wife 😁

These 2 lures I’ve just finished, I feel as if the finish is right up there and I couldn’t be happier with them.
Believe me, not for one minute am I saying I’m anywhere near the level with my lure making as the top makers…but the consistency is getting better and better, albeit still very slow going lol

The biggest part of making lures is to make sure you have fun👍👍

A couple more I’ve taken out of the cabinet to move on to a new home.

Up for auction is this stunning trio of yellow eye Alpha “Fizz” lures, the pics really don’t do them justice, the depth of colours to the timber are 👌👌👌
The top one is Camphor and is quite unique, I called him 2 face as there’s 2 different sides to that one, and the other 2 are cracking examples of Red Cedar.

All lures are signed and will come with backing cards which I will also sign and date.

100mm, 80mm and 65mm

A few more this time of some beautiful cod taken on the 80mm Deep Diving Cod-A-Rang, once again these fish are in absolutely prime condition, have a look at the depth on that 87 model.

I have these couple here I’ve taken out of my own personal collection that I’m putting up for auction, these were made 12 plus months ago.

150mm surface lure, 68 grams, finished off with VMC trebles

90mm Yabbie, 28grams, dives 8-10ft, also finished off with VMC trebles, this one also has “Here Fishy Fishy” on the bib 😁

Both lures are signed.

These are both one off colours, when I painted them up I liked them so much that I put them in the cabinet lol

Morning All,

Just a quick note to thank the ones that have contacted me asking where I was regarding this years Expo at Fernvale.

My apologies as I should have put a post up a bit closer to the time letting people know I wouldn’t be there this year, and the way things are going next year may be a big ask as well at this stage.

Things still not improving at all, actually getting a bit worse as the PTS is now impacting my legs and feet, along with the arms/hands, so carving a lure is pretty much tough going, I’m still confident this s**t will sort itself out, but time will be the determining factor.

I do still have a few lures I stashed away in the cabinet that I made some time ago that I was going to be taking to the Expo and these will be available in the coming weeks so keep an eye out.

If anyone has pics caught on the Alpha Kustom Lures pls feel free to post them up or send them through to me.

While theres still not much happening in the shed at the moment, and the way things are going it will be quite a while yet before I can make anything again, it’s so cool getting fish pics like these coming in.

A massive thanks to Martin and Michael for giving the lures a good work out, they do so much for the Timber lure makers in Australia by putting the lures through paces, these fish test the best of gear and to see fish hanging off them really puts a smile on the dial.

Hope everyone’s week has been a good one.

Getting near the end of what I had prepared for the Expo so things will start to slow down a bit.

Up for grabs this time are these couple of Red Cedar Fizzers, with the colouring and grain in these it would be an injustice to paint them.

As a lot have mentioned when they saw them, these are something I haven’t made in the past but thanks to my good Mate John Scott, Scotty’s Lures, who is the Fizzer King, he has converted me lol.

The only other 2 I have ever made are with Scotty.
