We’re thrilled to share that Makers of Murrumbateman has been named a finalist in the Tourism Marketing and Campaigns category at the 2026 Canberra and Capital Region Tourism Awards! 🥂✨

This is a wonderful recognition of the work our members put into promoting Murrumbateman as a destination - showcasing our makers, producers, creatives, food, w**e, workshops, experiences and the people behind them.

And what better way to celebrate than being recognised for the marketing and promotion of our beautiful region through Moving Feast and the many other stories we share throughout the year.

A huge thank you to our members, committee, partners and everyone who helps us spread the word about the wonderful things happening in Murrumbateman. ❤️

We’re incredibly proud to be finalists and to have the opportunity to represent our region alongside so many fantastic tourism businesses from across the Canberra and Capital Region.

Some partnerships become part of a story.

As we close the 20th Moving Feast, we want to take a moment to recognise two organisations whose support has helped make this much-loved celebration of Murrumbateman possible.

Murrumbateman Rural Supplies

For more than 14 years, Murrumbateman Rural Supplies has stood alongside the Moving Feast.

Fourteen years of believing in this event. Fourteen years of backing the businesses, makers, producers and people who open their doors and invite visitors to experience our region.

As a family-owned, independent local business, they have become an important part of everyday life in Murrumbateman and across the Yass Valley. Their practical knowledge, genuine service and commitment to rural life are woven into the fabric of our community.

Their support of Moving Feast is a wonderful example of what happens when local businesses invest in the place they call home.

The Tradies

We are equally grateful to The Tradies for supporting this year’s Moving Feast.

For more than 60 years, The Tradies has been part of Canberra’s story, building its place around community, hospitality and bringing people together. Their commitment extends well beyond their own doors, with an ongoing focus on supporting local organisations, initiatives and causes.

That spirit of community is something we value deeply.

Because an event like Moving Feast is never just about two days on a calendar. MOVING FEAST – DAY TWO! 🍷🍴

Sunday is shaping up to be a beautiful day to get out and explore Murrumbateman! After a wet start to the weekend, we’re looking forward to welcoming visitors for the second day of this year’s Moving Feast. And what a year to celebrate - 20 years of the Moving Feast!

It’s the perfect opportunity to create your own roving adventure and discover the food, w**e, produce, creativity and passionate local makers that make our region so special.

A little change of plans for Moving Feast

Granitevale Estate will be closed this weekend due to unforeseen family circumstances.

We’re thinking of the Granitevale team and thank them for letting us know. We know how much work goes into preparing for a weekend like this, and we appreciate your understanding and support.

The good news is that there is still so much to discover across Murrumbateman this weekend.

The 20th anniversary Moving Feast is happening now (Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October), with participating makers opening their doors to celebrate local food, w**e, produce, and experiences.

There’s plenty to taste, explore and enjoy — so make a day of it, gather your favourite people and discover the makers who make Murrumbateman such a special place.

We are incredibly proud to share that Murrumbateman has been selected for the Regional Night-Time Economy Program pilot round, delivered by 24-Hour Economy NSW ().

This is a powerful moment for our town and for the Makers of Murrumbateman collective.

This program will support our business community with tailored capacity-building, collaborative planning and funding to strengthen what we offer beyond daylight hours — creating more vibrant evenings, richer visitor experiences and new opportunities for connection across our region.

For us, this isn’t just about night-time trade. It’s about storytelling. It’s about extending the warmth of our cellar doors, studios, farms and food experiences into the evening. It’s about giving visitors more reasons to linger, explore and experience Murrumbateman in a deeper way.

It recognises what we already know: that this small town carries extraordinary talent, creativity and collaboration.
