The Harvard Stadium was modeled after Greek colosseums and Roman circuses. It was the world’s first massive reinforced concrete structure and is the nation’s oldest concrete stadium. In 1987, Harvard Stadium was designated as a National Historic Landmark, one of only four athletic arenas to be recognized this way.
