My new project, first try in process.

For a long time I thought chairs of this construction are named named curule chairs. It's name of ancient Rome folding chairs-thrones (sella curulis, possibly from currus - chariot). These were not just simple camping seats, but thrones - insignia of senior officials who, according to their status, were supposed to sit, communicating with mere mortals.

But those chairs were constructed without a backrests, quite uncomfortable indeed! As it turned out, more comfortable variations of curule chair with a backrest were introduced during the Renaissance in the wake of the passion for everything antique.

And in the romantic and eclectic 19th century, the third wave of interest began, now to the Renaissance variations of curule chairs, and replicas of medieval chairs began to be given the names of the titans of the Renaissance. Luther, Savonarola, Dante. This model is closest to what is called "dantesca"

Why exactly these names? Most likely, quite by accident.
Therefore, I will allow myself to continue to call this chair curule, at least this name has some historic justification
