When we say custom we mean custom. A recent client was searching for a traditional leather chesterfield for his lower level office & entertainment room. The problem? No pre-made sofa would fit down the narrow staircase of his downtown Toronto home.🤨 Together we designed a piece that could be assembled on site in four segments. Problem solved!🥳 Full grain leather, deep diamond tufting & brass nails contribute to the antique appeal of this brand new sofa! Do you have a difficult space you need to furnish?🤔

At Chisel & Awl we not only custom-build furniture for designers – we also restore existing pieces for residential projects.😲 Some pieces are too valuable to replace – like this antique mahogany bowfront chest. Instead, we restored it to a smart, two-tone finish that honors the history of the piece while transitioning it forward for a modern setting. If done properly, the combination of a transparent stain & solid paint colour can be smashing!

Our client requested a rugged leather arm chair inspired by the Netflix series ‘Narcos’ - & we delivered!🤎 To achieve a 70’s aesthetic we built a square frame with sloping track arms on top of splayed walnut legs. Genuine leather exhibits all the characteristics of European, full grain hides. Shallow, button tufting contributes to the casual vibe of this cinematic creation.
