Last week I had the opportunity to host a large private corporate workshop for a visiting team from Computacenter during their time in Montreal.
The group joined my pen making workshop as a team bonding activity, where each participant learned to use the lathe and created their own handmade wooden pen.
For this group, I also added a personalized touch by engraving the company’s logo onto the pen boxes, which made the experience feel even more special and memorable for the team.
It’s always an honour to work with companies visiting Montreal and create a unique hands-on experience for their teams outside of the usual corporate setting.

This was my very first lathe.
At 13 years old, while most kids were saving up for video games, I was saving up to buy this second-hand lathe.
Crazy to think that years later, it would become the start of this all.
Fun fact: this lathe is actually made from granite. Does anyone know why? 👀

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit the Montreal office and take part in 4 different Q&A sessions with over 70 new hires 🙌
I shared my experience as an host over the past 7 years, from first starting in my parents’ garage with a single lathe, to now running workshops out of a professional studio space accommodating large groups.
It was great connecting with the people behind the platform, answering their questions, and sharing some of my own ideas and feedback on ways Airbnb can continue improving the experience for hosts.
Grateful for this opportunity and excited for what’s ahead with Airbnb! ✨

Throwback Thursday
At 17 years old, I landed one of my first corporate projects with WestGroupe here in Montreal.
They ordered 30 matching pens made from authentic Jack Daniel’s oak whiskey barrels. Each one came in a custom wooden box with a certificate of authenticity, designed as a premium reward for their top clients.
Seeing something I made become part of a real company’s client program felt huge!
