Doing what I can with what I’ve got. Cutting boards, charcuterie boards, serving trays, furniture and anything else you can think up.

Made up a couple shield plaque mounts for two somewhat larger animal skulls I had that were too big to sit on a shelf. Held up with a couple keyholes and the skull slides onto the dowel.

All animal skulls I possess come from humane sources. Generally the animal is found dead in nature and collectors take care and clean the bones. None of these animals were killed in order to be put on display.

Walnut, Cherry and Maple cutting board. Everything is end grain.

This is definitely the most complex cutting board I’ve made. Lots of lessons learned during but I want to get better at end grain boards with interesting patterns.

What do you think of this one?

A nice refresher for a cutting board I made my mom a@few years ago. It was one of my earlier pieces and I’ve made a lot since then.
The board had a juice groove that was too small and shallow and would easily overflow. Plus there was no side handles or feet so it was always hard to pick up.

I upsized the juice groove, added some handles and rubber feet. Gave it a sand and new oil and wax and now she is much more functional and freshly beautified!

Another floating shelf in the books. This entranceway shelf opened up the space where a cabinet used to sit. The shelf is White Oak and almost 3” thick but holds strong with the Hovr Strong Solutions Inc.] bracket.

Finished up this Two-Stage Ambrosia Maple coffee table top for a friend. Opaque black base layer with a translucent smoky black fill.
Table is not complete as he has a metalworker friend who will be fabricating the legs for him.

I bevelled the edge corners to lessen the sharp angles anywhere on the table as there will be kids running around.

Can’t wait to see it fully finished!

For the rustic and simple, a live edge Black Walnut chop block cutting board. Tried out a new inset handle style on this one and let the colours do the talking.

First board done from one of the smaller pieces of the big Silver Maple that had to come down in my parents yard. This tree definitely has some interesting colours to show off.
This was gifted to my parents’ neighbour who had to endure just as much stress about that tree.

Used up some scraps and made this little citrus/prep board for the apartment. Made from Olivewood, Wenge, Walnut, Purpleheart and Ash. Such rich colours in these species 🤩

Refusing to accept that winter is upon us already. So here’s a board with some summer vibes with a matching coaster made from the handle offcut. Treat yourself!
