At Leaf Furniture, every piece begins long before the first cut of wood.

For Lars Laug, design is a constant process of observation and thought. Inspired by the forms, patterns, and rhythms of nature, ideas often take shape while walking through the woods. These concepts evolve over time, gradually developing into a design where form, function, and ergonomics come together.

Once the vision is clear in Lars’s mind, the next stage begins: working out the structure, planning how each piece will be built, and creating templates to guide the process. Every piece of wood is carefully selected, with its unique grain, character, and natural qualities considered as part of the final design.

It’s a thoughtful, hands-on process where nature inspires the idea, design gives it direction, and craftsmanship brings it to life.

Designed with purpose. Crafted with care. Inspired by nature.

Flattening boards over a number of days allows the inherent tension to be released especially when they are milled from much thicker stock. This helps the final board or panel remain more stable over time.

Soom solid edging going on these drawer fronts. You may ask why does it take two people ?? Well our edge ba**er doesn’t always feed solid edging on at the correct point… yes I’ve tried to remedy this, but the most reliable way is manually giving it that little push it needs… still way faster than gluing it on manually 🤓.

Meet the hands, the heart, and the obsession behind Leaf Furniture: Lars.

If you’ve ever wondered how a raw piece of timber transforms into a seamless, curving piece of art, Lars is the answer. He doesn’t just build furniture; he listens to the wood. Every grain line tells a story, and Lars makes sure it gets the perfect layout.

Take a look at this latest piece fresh off the workbench—those soft, retro-inspired rounded edges and mid-century curves don't just happen by accident. They take hours of meticulous shaping, sanding, and a relentless eye for detail.

We believe your home deserves furniture with a soul. Pieces built to last a lifetime, crafted by a maker who genuinely cares about every single joint and finish.

New here? Welcome to the family! We share a behind-the-scenes look at the sawdust, the design process, and the slow-made journey of custom woodworking right here in the shop.

here is something timeless about the strength and character of White Oak.

This contemporary bed frame showcases how we use premium hardwoods to bring modern architectural designs to life. We focus on the small details—like the precision-milled slats and the elegant, angled legs—to ensure every piece meets our standard.

Whether you are looking for the warmth of Oak or the rich tones of Black Walnut, we build pieces intended to be the center of your home for decades.

We are now shipping our custom furniture pieces Canada-wide from our shop in Revelstoke, BC. DM us to discuss a custom build for your space!
