Can a simple wooden spoon be a piece of art? 🍒
This one started with a piece of beautiful cherry wood.
Inspired by the recent work of Samuel Alexander , I explored simple, flowing lines and organic shapes — letting the natural character of the wood guide the design.
After carving, I oven-baked the spoon and finished it with oil. The heat brought out the deep, warm tones of the cherry, making its natural colours really come alive.
No complicated details. Just natural materials, timeless shapes and the beauty of handmade objects.
What do you see first: the shape or the grain?
