Happy International Day of Charity!
As a registered charity and social enterprise, founded to create opportunities for people with disabilities, our commitment to inclusion, opportunity and community is at the heart of who we are.
We’re proud to be part of Aberdeen’s third sector, alongside so many incredible charities and organisations making a difference across our city and beyond.
Here’s to the people and organisations who make our communities stronger.

Some lovely news for us today...
We’ve been shortlisted for the Outstanding Contribution to Manufacturing Award at the Made in Scotland Awards 2026.
For a business that has been manufacturing in Aberdeen since 1843, this is a really special recognition.
Glencraft is proud to be part of Scotland’s manufacturing story, combining traditional craftsmanship with innovation, quality and a strong social purpose.
Our team continues to handcraft luxury mattresses and other products here in Aberdeen, creating meaningful employment opportunities and keeping skilled manufacturing at the heart of what we do.
To be shortlisted alongside some of Scotland’s leading manufacturing businesses is a real honour.
A big thank you to our wonderful team. This recognition is down to you. 👏
And thank you to Insider Media and the judging panel for the recognition.
We’ll keep our fingers crossed for the awards night now! 🤞

When Glencraft first opened its doors in 1843, it was founded to help create meaningful employment through skilled craftsmanship and more than 180 years later, inclusivity remains at the heart of who we are.
While much has changed over the years, our belief in giving people the opportunity to develop their skills, take pride in their work and be part of something continues.
A purpose we still carry forward. Where sleep has soul.

Our team recently had the pleasure of visiting Jamieson & Carry for a behind-the-scenes tour.
As two businesses with a rich history in Aberdeen, it was wonderful to learn more about their story and tradition. While we may work with very different materials, there’s a shared understanding that quality craftsmanship cannot be rushed. It takes time, skill and a genuine pride in what you create.
We were also delighted to be gifted beautifully engraved Glencraft coasters during our visit, a lovely reminder of the shared heritage between two Aberdeen names.
Thank you to the team at Jamieson & Carry for such a warm welcome.

We believe that moving forward means never standing still.
Last week, our Business Development Manager, Kate Stott, and Operations Manager, Martyn Eden, attended the first session of the CeeD Growth500 programme at the University of St Andrews Eden Campus.
The session offered a valuable opportunity to step back from the day-to-day and look at Glencraft from a wider perspective by exploring our business model, how we operate and where we can continue to grow.
With five more sessions taking place over the coming months, we’re looking forward to bringing fresh ideas and new thinking back to our team in Aberdeen.
Because our commitment to craftsmanship extends to how we build our business for the future too.
