Originally from Enfield, Gerry had a keen eye for quality furniture and a genuine talent for furniture restoration. His appreciation for craftsmanship and timeless design lives on in this beautiful Holland & Sons pie crust chair.
This piece was lovingly restored in honour of both the chair’s history and the family’s connection to it.

Vikki brought us her grandmother’s much-loved chair, featuring a hand-sewn tapestry seat. Time had taken its toll, and the fabric was becoming too fragile to remain in everyday use.

We reupholstered the chair in a rich olive velvet from finished with a carefully selected trim

To preserve the history of the piece, the tapestry has been repurposed into a cushion—allowing it to be enjoyed without further wear. 🌿

These vintage cocktail chairs have been reupholstered in Tangle fabric, bringing a soft, contemporary feel to their timeless shape.

A lovely piano teacher came to us to refurbish a set of well-loved chairs and an old chest. The chairs had supported many years of dedicated students, so required new springs, fresh stuffing, and new top cloth. She asked for the chest to match — and during the strip-down we discovered old newspapers inside dating back to 1868. A little piece of history brought back to life. 🎹✨

We recently had an office chair into the workshop where the fabric fibres had degraded due to prolonged exposure to sunlight. ☀️
Light fastness isn’t always front of mind when choosing upholstery fabrics, but if a chair is positioned near a window, it becomes an important consideration. Selecting the right material can make all the difference to how well a piece stands the test of time—both structurally and visually.

Claude the Camel is approaching 60 years old and has seen decades of loving play, making childhood memories.
