CRY congratulates the Rt Hon. Andy Burnham MP (Andy Burnham) on his appointment as Prime Minister. Andy has been a supporter of CRY since the founding of the first Cardiac Risk in the Young All Party Parliamentary Group in 2002. He worked closely with CRY's founder and former CEO Alison Cox MBE to help give bereaved families a voice in parliament.
He has helped raise awareness of the impact of young sudden cardiac death and the need to do more to prevent these tragedies. He has spoken at many CRY events and connected CRY with people who can make a difference. We would like to thank him for everything he has done, and we look forward to working with the government to build on CRY's progress and continue to do all we can to save young lives.

🕐 4 days left to sign a petition that could save young lives.
Every week in the UK, 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die suddenly from undetected heart conditions. Most show no symptoms beforehand.
A Parliament petition is urging the Government to fund cardiac screening for every young person at age 14. A simple heart test could identify those at risk before it is too late.
The petition needs 100,000 signatures to trigger a debate in Parliament.
