A dining nook full of concealed storage📦👌

When Olivia and Dan tasked Lozi with fixing the numerous problems they had with their existing cabinetry, we started with the dining nook. While similar in appearance to Lozi’s final design, their original nook was highly impractical, with difficult to access storage, and not designed for comfort.

Our designer Rowena focused on the rear storage system: the new opening mechanism is easy to use, incorporating a soft-close feature for safety, particularly around children. Adding curved corners and a more thoughtfully designed seat width to the seating area now means it is as comfortable as it is practical.

Finally, we added two storage drawers into the ends of the bench. Each child now has their own easily accessible drawer, for putting away items even while seated, with a removable box for quick tidying up and a soft close feature to avoid catching little fingers.

At the heart of Olivia and Dan’s kitchen lies this dining nook, the centerpiece to their family life. Family meals, homework, play time, hosting friends and family - this nook needed to be practical and elegant to suit this busy family’s lifestyle.

Lozi’s redesign prioritised comfort and functionality, allowing their striking BB Italia table to remain centre stage, becoming the cornerstone of this families life together.

The adjustable pegboard - a Lozi classic for a reason! 📍💡

And there's not better showcase than Olivia and Dan's Hampstead home! In their entrance hall, a pegboard hides the fuse box whilst providing adjustable coat and key storage. In their daughter's room, another offsets her cork board for study and play time.

And finally in their shared workspace, yet another gives Olivia the flexibility she needs in her sewing cabinet.

Family life, simplified through design 💡📏

Nestled in leafy Hampstead, Olivia and Dan's magnificent home is the beating heart of their bustling family life. With two young children, their busy lives need a home that can keep up.

Unfortunately, their existing furniture wasn't quite up to the job - poor manufacturing and badly considered details made the existing joinery difficult to use. The family was constantly struggling with these design flaws, which made the flow of everyday life unnecessarily complicated.

Having already worked worked with Lozi a year or so previously on the design of their iconic shared creative workspace, they got back in touch, putting the rest of their home in our designer Rowena's masterful hands...
