Love the pastry 🥐 glow up at Good Shepherd Studios, their coffee is from Assembly Assembly and Wood Street 𝗪𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗦𝗧. 𝗖𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗘𝗘. Their pricing is accessible which means squash for £1, tea for £1 and filter coffee for £2. Americano is £3, Latte, Flat Whites etc are £3.50. Fruit is also available for a £1 (from Riverford ). The idea is that you can come with friends or family, visit a workshop or event and be able to buy snacks and drinks that are relatively low priced without reducing quality ❤️

All baked goods are plant based from Luminary Bakery, the café is worker led, so hours menu and pricing has all been done in collaboration with the workers and they have a share of profits and it’s also paper cup free - so they are running a reusable cup deposit scheme.

We’re getting an injection of fresh culinary talent with launch of Azra Kitchen this weekend. Brothers Waheed and Rolluhah have been prepping this spot in Tilbury Arches for months to bring their contemporary interpretation of Afghan hospitality here in E10. We’re buzzing to try the food and experience this new spot up beside Leyton Midland overground.

Soft launch bookings are on (DM them to check for space) and the team will be opening Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through August before going full 🚀 in September.

We love Tom , you might have noticed our regular stories covering his events. He’s kicked off Soul Focus with bogart_dj a new monthly drum n bass night for East London, landing at Chop Shop Tavern in Leyton on the second Saturday of every month. 

These Leyton-based DJs, music lovers, record collectors and promoters and bogart_dj , have created a night that celebrates the deep and soulful side of drum n bass. Think bittersweet piano, soaring strings and drums that make you want to move. 

The fourth edition of Soul Focus takes place on 8th August (see the last slide for their new flyer) and a special community is already forming. As one raver put it “Only popped in for an hour at 9, stayed until 2am!”

My lovely neighbour Tom is cooking up a storm this weekend with Decatur Tilbury Yard a bit further down in the carpark

Expect cooking over a massive BBQ with Decatur classics like chargrilled oysters along with a small menu of British seafood and prime cuts 🥩 with their Cajun flair.
The Tilbury yard crew Leyton Calling are providing drinks and DJ and general good vibes

Get over there at 3pm on Friday to get in there first, we expect this to sell out fast!
