Raised Pilothouse series | BLUE JEANS | Van der Valk Shipyard Casual entertainment for friends and family is the theme of a yacht that is being built to a high degree of sophistication throughout.

Positioned in the dining room of the exquisite 34 metre Superyacht Blue Jeans, this manual 2.2. metre Fletcher Capstan Table is constructed from Macassar Ebony in a starburst radial pattern with a high build gloss finish. The base and edges of the tops and skirt are enrobed in lightly brushed copper, which perfectly complements the rich magenta tones of the mesmerising timber. Bespoke design by Guido de Groot Design. Every table made is bespoke. Over the years, we have created a range of base shapes from different materials. When we receive a brief from a client our draftsman spend time at the drawing board to make sure the new design allows the mechanism to work.

Every table made is bespoke and this 3m table was no exception with the addition of a lazy susan. It was also the first table to have our new style electronic skirt.

There have been a few comments about seating.

We can assure you all that it is possible to fit your legs comfortably under one of our tables. Every table made is bespoke so the final height is stipulated by the client. The standard height is 750mm, with the height between the underside of the table and floor being 627mm.

Seating capacity depends upon the size of chair. In general once expanded a 2.2m table can seat up to 12 people, a 2.5m table 14 people and a 3m table 16 people.

Fletcher Burwell-Taylor has been extremely busy over the past twelve months creating and exporting some truly unusual and exciting pieces of furniture, including our first table installation in China.

We relocated our assembly workshop to London, bringing us closer to our clients and manufacturing partners. At the same time development has continued on our mechanism and we can now offer a fully electronic skirt.

2017 will be another year of us sharing great British design and craftsmanship with the rest of the world.

Here is the original Fletcher Capstan Table prototype which has remained within the Fletcher family. The top is a beautiful figured mahogany with a burr star. The feet were cast from a bespoke carving.

Based Upon Based upon is a team of artists and designers creating highly acclaimed, large scale artworks, sculptural furniture and hand-made surfaces.

There have been a few questions about the sizes of our table. The area of the table top expands by 73% enabling each table to be two sizes with varying seating capacities.

We produce three standard sizes of table:

-3.0 metres to 2.28 metres (118 to 90 inches). Circumference when large 9.43 metres (31 feet).
-2.5 metes to 1.90 metres (98.5 to 75 inches). Circumference when large 7.86 metres (27.8 feet).
-2.2 metres to 1.67 metres (90.5 to 69 inches). Circumference when large 6.9 metres(22.7 feet).

A 3.6 metre lay-on top, which can be added to the 3.0 metre size to increase its seating capacity even more, is also offered.
