Well here is my - it seems people like the patterned fabrics! I can’t decide my favourite - which is yours?

Thank you everyone for all your support these past 12 months and best wishes to everyone for the next year and decade... :)

Last job of 2019 was this cute little buttoned chair covered in Bolero in colour Parakeet. It was the customers grandmothers chair so had huge sentimental value. It’s now looking beautiful again.
Mostly all I find down the back of a chair is sweet wrappers and crumbs (and moths...) but this chair had a beautiful ring in it which has been returned (of course)!
So that’s it folks! Best wishes for everyone over the festive period 🙂

This is a mosaic we made several years ago for when the Tories were openly threatening to scrap our human rights act. It’s not in the manifesto this time but there have been whisperings about it. Our family have needed public services such as the NHS and Police more than most and I know how fundamental it is these services are properly funded. The austerity cuts the Conservatives have inflicted on the most vulnerable in society over the last decade have destroyed people’s lives, and I will be voting to change that. I hope you will too!
It was also world human rights day earlier this week!

I’ve finally opened my Etsy shop JUST in time for Christmas. There’s a selection of wildflower textile embroideries and a new series of hand-stitched ‘wellbeing words’ for those who aren’t feeling so great at Christmas. The link is in my bio.

These 2 little chairs were originally caned but a previous upholstery attempt meant that wouldn’t be possible so I’ve upholstered them in this gorgeous by called “Clover” in colour Shoreline.
The lovely curly one is a Thonet chair - the design masters of bentwood.

I’m excited to show you this very special little antique chair - it has beautiful curved lines and a swivelling base (which I’d never seen before!) The customer wanted to keep the colour of the original gold fabric and fell in love with this beautiful screen printed velvet “Birdbranch”. Concave backs like this are tricky to get smooth, especially with velvet, but I got there in the end and I think the pattern fits perfectly! It’s finished with a golden double piping from .

I absolutely adore this chair and definitely didn’t want to give it back!

Another sweet armchair in a beautiful herringbone fabric this time for the same customer. The fussy skirt has gone, the claw and ball feet cleaned up and the chair is looking glorious again.

This lovely armchair has been given an update with this wonderfully bright tartan.

The definition of Harris Tweed is enshrined in law and for a cloth to be considered Harris Tweed, it must be “hand-woven by the islanders at their home in the Outer Hebrides and made from pure virgin wool dyed and spun in the Outer Hebrides”. So this cloth was handwoven in Scotland, upholstered in West London and now is on its way to New Zealand!

I like the challenge of pattern-matching with tartan and it's always so satisfying when everything lines up! Happy Fridays.

I’m going to be at .maker.station indoor winter market so pop by between 1-7pm to say hi
