After the break in lectures whilst our membership has been basking in the sunshine, it's time to resume our programme with our September lecture from Lucia Gahlin, who will be educating us in the ways of The Garden in Ancient Egyptian Art. Yet another new subject to many, Lucia will explore images of gardens in Ancient Egyptian art to discover all we can about the gardens associated with ancient palaces, élite houses, temples and tombs. Sound fascinating? Book in to the Nadder Centre on Friday 18th September and join us as we delve into a vivid array of ancient gardens!

The Arts Society Nadder Valley meets on the third Friday evening of the month in the Nadder Centre, Tisbury, with the exception of August and December. We also hold a Study Day and a Study morning in November and February respectively.

We are looking for someone with a technical bent to help out with the setup of the Audio Visual system - a laptop wired into the Centre’s projector and microphones wired into their sound system - at the beginning and end of the evening. This usually means set up at around 5:30 pm and taking everything down again at around 7:30. If you’re interested in the arts, even better, as you can enjoy the lecture!

If you think that you might be able to help out, please message me with your contact details and we can speak. Thank you for your attention.

A visit to the Bodega Tradición in Jerez includes access to a selection from the owner’s private art collection that includes works by Goya, El Greco and Velasquez. Worth a visit…and the sherry is fabulous too!
