Just to introduce myself to our new followers (oooh I don't like posing for pics!). I’m Brona Donnelly, founder of Brona Donnelly Interiors established over 10 years ago from my kitchen table. My early career was in the corporate world, marketing, but my passion has always been design and hands on creating. I studied Interior Design and had a decorating business in London (yes, I mean up ladders, painting and wallpapering!). We had lots of wonderful clients who I still work with today. After having a family and moving to Northern Ireland, I decided to put my sewing skills to work so that I could mould my job around raising children. It has snowballed over the last 10 years and I now have a team of lovely sewers behind me, to help deliver the highest quality soft furnishings I have become known for. I love using upholstery fabrics for roman blinds. They create a substantial window dressing with huge character. The naturally heavy qualities of upholstery fabric make it a great insulator too. This stylish fabric does just that.

Here it is…what a corker! I really enjoyed working on this commission piece. Fully interlocked which means all the stitching happens inside and so there’s NO stitches to front of blind. It sits beautifully flat with no light filtering through. If takes longer but is worth it!

These smart blinds are headed for Kent…so suave don’t you think? Different colours or patterns can be used and are an economical way of making roman blinds that are wider than fabric. Designer fabrics can be used in the middle and a less expensive fabric for the border.
