This poor picture had fallen from the wall, smashing its frame! Having sourced a vintage frame, I stripped it, oak stained it, then resized the mount, before refitting it, sealing with framing tape and adding d ring hangers.
Delighted with the result, as is my client and it’s now back on the wall where it belongs. Even more delighted to have been entrusted with a second picture, this one for mounting and framing!

Excited to have some of the new range of candleholders on the stall this morning! I always experience a few butterflies when putting things out there for the first time, but I’ve had lots of positive feedback, so am starting to relax!
When I saw these newel post caps being tossed into a skip by a builder, I just couldn’t leave them there. Whilst the builders may have seen waste from their latest project, I saw potential! All it took was a bit of imagination, a bit of careful sawing, a lot of sanding, painting in a range of colours from , a bit more sanding, applying a range of finishes, and adding some vintage patisserie cases, and now they’re ready for their new lives as stylish candleholders, ready for cost Autumn evenings.
Up and at it adding colour to these broken pepper mills this morning! Lots more to do before their transformation is complete, but loving the results so far!
I had a brilliant day yesterday running this workshop for my friends
We took the same basic, plain bamboo tray, and using their fabulous array of hand carved printing blocks, and furniture paint from created nine completely individual trays!
From experienced printers and crafters, to complete newcomers, everyone went home with something they were both delighted with, and were proud of themselves for creating. There was a lot of fun and laughter along the way too!
Quote of the day - ‘I can’t believe I made this’ - accompanied by slightly wet eyes and a definite hitch in the voice! For me, it doesn’t get any better than a reaction like that!!
