This one followed a clear Japandi direction, with calm architectural lines, oak texture, and a layout designed to keep the whole elevation visually quiet while still delivering serious everyday function.

The project includes a large island, full height cabinetry, integrated appliances, and a breakfast cabinet that keeps the daily use zone practical but easy to close away when not needed.

What makes projects like this work is not just the material choice. It is the full bespoke set out behind it. Proportions, storage, appliance positions, grain flow, and final fit all need to work together as one composition.

This bespoke shaker style kitchen in Pudsey near Leeds formed part of a wider house renovation and extension project, where JS DECO was also commissioned to design and manufacture a set of built in wardrobes. The brief was clear: retain a traditional character while introducing improved workflow, integrated storage and modern construction precision.

This Matlock, Derbyshire project transformed a traditional, cluttered kitchen–diner into a calm, modern plywood space with significantly improved storage and workflow. The clients wanted a durable, low-maintenance kitchen that respected the character of their home while bringing in clean contemporary lines and premium materials.

JS DECO designed and manufactured fully bespoke plywood carcases, paired with ultra-matt 12 mm solid FENIX NTM Verde Brac worktops and splashbacks for a seamless, highly practical cooking environment. The whole room stands at 2.75 m high, allowing us to run cabinetry almost full height and maximise vertical storage without overwhelming the space.

Behind the scenes before installation.

This bespoke plywood kitchen is now fully manufactured and ready for final fitting.

Natural oak veneer fronts, precision-matched grain, custom shadow gaps and our own solid oak integrated handle detail developed specifically for this project.

Every cabinet is made from scratch in our workshop.
No standard modules. No compromises on proportions.

You can already see how the vertical grain flows continuously across the drawers and doors. That level of control is only possible when everything is designed and built as one system.

Custom-made true handleless kitchen – Ilkley, West Yorkshire

A fully bespoke kitchen designed and manufactured for a private client in Ilkley.

The brief was to create a calm, minimal space with clean lines and integrated appliances, while keeping the kitchen practical for everyday use. All cabinets were made to exact dimensions to suit the room, rather than adapting standard modules.

The furniture was manufactured in our workshop using a plywood-based construction, finished in a soft matte lacquer, with true handleless rails and carefully resolved junctions throughout.

A good example of how a modern handleless kitchen can still feel warm, balanced and functional when proportions and detailing are done properly.

Optimised drawers are the backbone of a functional kitchen.

In a professional-grade kitchen, organisation is not optional — it defines speed, flow and comfort of work.

In this project, every drawer was designed from scratch, not selected from a catalogue:

• Internal layouts sized to real utensils, pans and tools
• Multi-level drawers to separate prep, cooking and serving zones
• Birch plywood construction for stiffness and long-term accuracy
• Oak-veneered interiors for durability and easy maintenance
• Reduced plinths and voids to convert dead space into usable storage

Nothing here is “standard width” or “factory default”.
Drawer depth, height and subdivision were all dictated by use — not by a system.
