Open tomorrow: make me saline by Agnes Lloyd Platt

‘make me saline’, is a multi-sensory exhibition by longtime collaborator and friend of Monument, Agnes Lloyd Platt.

‘make me saline’ is a consideration of landscapes - an inspection of both physical and emotional geography. The series shot in Menorca, questions isolation, volume, connection, self and gravity - observing solitude as a guide across an island, towards identity.

In dialogue with the series, Monument will present a collection of newly acquired archival pieces in stone, glass and aluminium, ranging from the 1970’s to 1990’s.

Exhibition:
Open everyday:
May 14th - 28th, 10am-4pm
No appointment required

The Softline cabinet by Otto Zapf
Designed in 1971 by Otto Zapf (1931-2018), the experimental Softline System was a range developed by Zapf whilst still a partner at Vitsoe & Zapf. With its lightweight construction, Softline was known for its distinctive fabrication, using a vinyl-light foil and snap buttons that puncture through the fabric. This piece is in a subtle taupe colour, with a lustre in excellent condition for its 50 years.

In focus: The collectible Anchise floor lamp by Toni Cordero, manufactured by Artemide, circa 1990.
Featuring its distinctive brass chain-mail shade and brutalist stone-like cast bronze base, the iconic, sculptural floor lamp is in pristine condition, sourced from dead stock in Italy, with the original tag still intact.
