- This week, we turn back the clock to Ancient times. Here's a recipe for Catos, 200BCE Olive Relish.

120g black olives
120g green olives
4 tbsp red w**e vinegar
4 tbsp olive oil
1 heaped tsp chopped fennel leaf
1/2 level tsp ground cumin
2 tsp chopped fresh coriander
2 tsp chopped fresh rue
3 tsp chopped fresh mint

Method : Chop the olives and pour on the vinegar and olive oil. Chop the herbs finely, and add to the mixture. Place the olive relish in a container and pour a little olive oil over the top.

375 Years ago - The Royalist flee into the old Medieval streets of Worcester. The Parliamentarians pursue, and fighting erupts in every street and alleyway. Houses become battle grounds!

375 Years ago - The Worcestershire Miltia help to storm Fort Royal! Some of the most fierce fighting took place on the Fort and into Sidbury below.

375 Years ago - The West bank is lost! The Royalists attempt a breakout from Sidbury Gate. The Parliamentarians hold their line and begin to beat the Royalists back into Worcester.

375 Years ago - William Keith who was holding Powick Bridge is forced to withdraw too. Sadly this became a retreat and full blown rout on the West bank of the Severn.

375 Years ago - The Parliamentarian advance had stalled at the River Teme! However, the highlanders on the river meadow are shocked to see Parliamentarian Cavalry appearing from the river bank! They had crossed the Teme and the Severn on two boat bridges dragged upstream from Upton.

375 Years ago - A vicious firefight erupts across the River Teme. The entire Parliament army are held up because parts of Powick Bridge had been demolished.
