At Nidra Niwas, books are part of the stay
You’ll find them in the café, in the rooms, and in the quieter corners of the house - meant to be picked up, read a little, put down, and picked up again.
Some mornings start with coffee and a few pages. Some evenings end with a book you didn’t plan on finishing. You can read in your room, carry a book down to the café, or just sit with one while the day passes.
In a world that spends most of its time on screens, there’s something grounding about paper, margins, dog-eared pages, and the familiar smell of old pages held in your hands.
With Jaipur buzzing with readers and stories this week, it felt like the right time to share this. Nidra Niwas is a boutique hotel for people who like calm spaces, good light, and time to think - or not think at all.

Jaipur, we’re here.
This is Nidra Niwas - a boutique hotel of books, rooms and long, lazy mornings, wrapped in a skin of terracotta tiles.
In this city of pink facades and old havelis, we wanted a building that felt like it belonged and quietly did its own thing. Every terracotta tile on our front is stacked like the pages of a book - tilted, layered, breathing. By day, they soften the sun and keep the rooms cooler. By night, they glow like a giant, brick-red lantern.
Think of it as Jaipur’s oldest trick - shade and ventilation - with a new cover design.
Inside, the rooms are almost ready:
• beds you actually look forward to
• reading corners that make “five more minutes” a daily ritual
• blackout curtains for when the city has been a lot
Our all-day café is coming soon too - coffee, slow breakfasts, a few global comforts, and shelves of books meant to be picked up, lost in, argued with.
We’re still finishing the last bits of paint and pillow-testing, but the house is alive. If you love stories, design, conversations with strangers, and the joy of coming back to a good room at the end of a busy day - we’ve made this place for you.
