The Bombay Timber Merchants Association Ltd Invited All Its Member's to the Eid Milan Get Togather Function Today 10th June 2019 between 4 - 6 pm @ Associations Off/Hall. More than 100 Members Attended the function n Shared Best Wishes on Eid. This has been the age old practice of our association n followed religiously.

The Malaysian Delegation along with their Official n Export Delegation visited our Market n we had a very fruitful meeting with them. They were happy to Note that Our Ass has completed 60 years n is still going strong. They were surprised n impressed to see our Sawmills still running mainly by Labours instead of a automatic machines. Now it's Malayasia Calling...

The Bombay Timber Merchants Association Ltd was Invited for a meeting with the Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corp n its Exporters Delegation of Malaysia. Our associations Board of Directors were lead by Our Chairman Shri Mohd. Iqbal Chhapra n the Malayasian Delegation was lead by Hon Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Bin Ali Hasan, Second Minister for Resource Planning & Environment, and Minister for Industrial & Entrepreneur Development, Trade & Investment, Sarawak, Malaysia. Along with him Officials of Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corp (STIDC) & 20 Exporters attended the meeting. The meeting was at Taj Land's End, Bandra. We would like to Thank Ms. Dayang Nena Abang Bruce, Senior Asst. General Manager STIDC & Ms. Fatimawati ABG ABD Latif, Executive Officer STIDC for arranging A Independent meeting with Hon'ble Minister n other Dignitaries.

The Bombay Timber Merchants Association Ltd President Shri Iqbal Bhai Chhapra, Secretary Shri Amubhai, Joint Secretary Shri Jotindra Shah, Director Shri Ashish Mehta N Shri Pankaj Mehta meet MP from North East Constituency of Mumbai Shri Kirit Somaiya ji. We Congratulated him on Passing of the GST Bill & told that The Bombay Timber Merchants Association Ltd Welcomes the GST Act and requested him that the GST Act Should be Implemented from 1.4.17.

The Liability of Payment of Tax on the Buyer in case the same is Not paid by the Seller should be removed. Only seller should be held responsible for it.

Also we requested that On Implementation of GST Act in Mumbai, Maharashtra OCTROI N LBT SHOULD BE ABOLISHED UNCONDITIONALLY.

We explained to him that the Traders of Mumbai, Maharashtra have been suffering from this regressive taxes since a long time n No State in India & No Country in the World has such Taxes in today's Time.

He has promised to do the needful.

The Bombay Timber Merchants Assocaition Ltd is a Six Decade old Association of All Timber Merchants of Mumbai. It Slowly and Gradualy increased in number of members and also extended its base from the Greater Mumbai to Entire Mumbai. Now we have members from Kalyan to Colaba & Frm Churgate to Virar.
