Wireless Optical Communication :
Wireless optical communication refers to the
use of free-space propagation of light waves in the
near infrared band as a transmission medium for
communication. A wireless optical communication (WOC) system is similar to a fixed wireless (microwave or RF) system except that information is carried by optical or infrared beam rather than by a microwave or RF carrier. They are also referred to as Free Space Optical or Infrared communications systems. Free Space Optics (FSO) enable optical transmission speeds which are not possible using existing fixed wireless radio frequency (RF) technology. FSOs are additionally used for communications between spacecraft.
"The International Journal of Computer Applications, New York, USA (Impact factor of 0.8) has accepted to publish all the high-quality original research papers from the conference proceedings of MECON-2013”
