Nakagawa Mokkougei Hirakoubou

We are Japanese traditional craftsmen who makes or repairs wooden barrels or tubs. This is introduces "Nakagawa-mokkogei Hirakoubou" of Otsu-shi, Shiga, Japan.

I produce a Japanese traditional woodwork in "Nakagawa-mokkogei Hirakoubou" .Mainly on the technique of the woden pail, I use the technique such as joinery , carving, a potter's wheel, bentwood wares.My name is Shuji Nakagawa.I am leader of "hirakoubou" . My teacher is father and does woodwork for three generations. My father (Kiyotsugu Nakagawa) became Japanese living national treasure in 2001.Shuji Nakagawa.
