Water transfer printing is a surface treatment method that uses water pressure to apply patterns to products. Initially, the hydrophilic (water-soluble) film is printed with hydrophobic (water-insoluble) ink and then floated on water. At this point, a water transfer activator is introduced to dissolve the film, leaving only the ink particles, and then the product is immersed to transfer the pattern. This cost-effective method can apply patterns regardless of the surface‘s contours or shapes, but it has limitations in expressing physical textures. Therefore, a secondary process is employed to create surface textures.

CMF Insight :
Structural color is a hue manifested through the refraction and interference of light, deriving its color not from pigments but from nanostructures. For structural color coating, one first applies a primer(base coat), then mixes the base material with pigments in an appropriate ratio(top coat). The intensity of the color varies based on this mixture ratio. When applied to the rear of a transparent material, the brightness intensifies, creating an illusion of a coated surface. If applied to the front, the pigment becomes visible, allowing you to sense its inherent texture.
