막장부촉맞짜임을 현대적으로 응용한
송치 라운지 체어입니다.

간결한 형태 안에 담긴 단단한 구조는

This is the Songchi Lounge Chair, reinterpreted through a contemporary application of makjangbu-chok matjjaim, a traditional joinery method used in Korean wooden furniture.

Its solid structure, expressed through a clean and restrained form, reveals a quiet sculptural beauty, while the combination of Songchi leather cushions and the natural texture of wood brings a sense of refined luxury.

The generous cushioning and substantial thickness provide a stable and deeply comfortable seat, offering the user a moment of rest and quiet immersion.

한국 전통예술과 공예의 미감에 대한 깊은 관심을 바탕으로
서예, 도예, 침선, 화예, 자연염색 등을 익히며
아시아적 미의식에 대한 탐구를 이어왔습니다.

돌, 종이, 섬유, 나무, 먹 등
자연의 재료를 중심으로 전통적 감각을 동시대적으로 재해석하고,
절제된 형태와 구조 안에서
이를 자신만의 언어로 시각화합니다.

보이지 않지만 존재하는 것,
이미 사라졌거나 사라져가는 것,
그리고 시간과 공간, 기억이 교차하며 축적되는 지점.

The low proportions and storage concept of the traditional mungap are reinterpreted into a sideboard for contemporary living.

Its low-set form sits without obstructing the view in any space,
bringing a sense of stability and quiet balance to the interior.

The contrast between the straight-lined top and the oval legs,
along with the detail of the handles carved from solid wood,
reflects Eastern Edition’s philosophy of “the technique of non-technique.”

A mulhwak, traditionally placed in village yards or house sites
to hold water for everyday use,

now sits at MuMi Tea House
as a place to wash one’s hands
and quietly gather the mind
before drinking tea.

Having endured wind and rain,
the stone—holding the passage of time—
carries a deep, weathered texture,
bringing a quiet presence to the space.

이 곳은 양태오 파운더의 어린 시절 기억 속
할머니 댁 다락방을 재구성한 공간입니다.

낮고 어두운 공간 속에서
사물 하나하나를 바라보던 그의 기억은
시간이 흐른 뒤에도 선명하게 남아 있습니다.

이곳에 놓인 작은 오브제와 기록들은
브랜드가 지나온 시간과 생각의 흔적을 담고 있습니다.

그리고 그 흔적들은
지금의 이스턴에디션이 가치를 바라보는
하나의 태도로 이어집니다.

This space is a reinterpretation of the attic
from the grandmother’s house in the childhood memories
of Eastern Edition’s founder, Teo Yang.

In that low, dimly lit room,
the quiet moments spent observing each object
remain vividly in his memory even today.

The small objects and records placed here
carry traces of the time and thoughts
that have shaped the brand.

Those traces continue to extend into the present,
informing the way Eastern Edition
understands and values objects today.
