Happy Newyear,

Many thanks for all the financial support and positive responses we have been receiving once again.
Even on the last few days off December CBO Mbamba received a wonderful donation.

We decided beginning 2024 as CBO Mbamba that it was better to share our Projects under our own pages to share contents with a larger audience and creating a greater interest with hopefully more sponsors for the Projects that we have been doing and will be keep on doing in Malawi for many years.

Pictures of The Pre school / Community Centre that was opened last November 2024.

The C.B.O Mbamba Committee members and the 2 of us had a great reception this morning with the transfer of 300 new math books for
form 1,2,3 and 4 sponsored by
“World Mathematics Funds”
from the Netherlands to the Chifira School.
It was received with great enthusiasm by the Head of the school Mr Manda, all teachers,the head of the school organization Mr Phiri, and many students.
Mr Manda and also Jackson The teacher gave a very grateful speech about everything we have achieved as a CBO Mbamba over the last few years for their school.
It was heartwarming.
We also got a tour to see the computer classroom, where all desktops we donated last year, still worked perfectly.

We were so happy with the visit from Hans his niece Brigitte Verweij and her husband Hans.
They have been here many times and always travel with a lot of extra luggage,clothing and shoes that they leave behind for us 2 to give away to our villagers.
Especially now,a big perk with the devaluation of 44 % of the Malawian Kwacha and everything becoming so expensive.
So a great thank you from all At Mbamba Village.

This week a group of young people received their Certificate
“Basic knowledge of Computer Skills”
The 2 new groups have now started and after speaking with Robert, the Social Welfare Officer in our area and Shadreck the teacher, we have decided that for these groups, Woman Empowerment was set as a priority. Giving the chance to young single mothers, who got pregnant at too young of age and couldn't finish school because of it. Something that unfortunately happens a lot here, young girls who miss the chance to complete their education and sit at home with a baby and therefore do not develop further. With this opportunity we give them an opportunity to learn a new skill, build new social contacts and thus gain more confidence to be able to apply for a job.

Chifira CDSS and the entire community would like to thank its sponsors for the great help provided to the school and the entire community. The donations have helped the school and the community greatly. Recently, a number of donations received changed the face of the school and community at large.
Computers have made studies simple for both students and teachers. Students and teachers are now able to access a variety of learning materials installed in the computers. Again, some videos from YouTube have helped students to learn on their own at their own free time. The school believes that the performance of students during exams will improve greatly because of the availability of computers .

The school is now accessing clean water because of the water pump installed at school. Water problems are no longer a threat at the institution. Previously students could travel to distant places to access water, This had been disturbing lessons. The water pump donated to our school has also helped us in fighting cholera which a few months hit several areas in Malawi.
We also thank our sponsors for paying school fees, examination fees and providing assorted learning materials to fifty students. This has played a great role in education of these students. Such students could have dropped out of school but they are in school because of your support.
All in all, we thank our sponsors for the help rendered to Chifira CDSS and the community. The computers, water pump, school fess, examination fees and assorted materials have touched many families through our students. Chiefs, parents, teachers and students are greatly blessed by the help from our sponsors.

Another surprise message and great donation.

Recently I received a very nice message from my old school friend:
Anneke Zwaan ,she wrote that she was throwing her late 60th party (after Corona) and that Pedro, an old school friend of both of us, would play his vinyl records and he has a huge collection.. She wanted to pay Pedro for his time,but such a special man as he is, he said donate it to Malawi And she did, isn't that just a lovely gesture.
Pedro is the initiator and introduced us to the Foundation we now work with.
She also sent these nice pictures Top Anneke and Pedro Thank you very much for this original form of donation.

Another nice update
Internet / ICT Training Centre

The roof is on ,concrete has been poured over the wooden planks that are covered with plastic and steel, just need to add a waterproof paint on it and the roof is ready and extremely strong.
Inside everything has been plastered, see also the effect of the beautiful wooden ceiling.👍
And the plasterers now started outside, going very well

Update, building the internet/ICT training centre.

The foundation almost completed, probably will be the strongest building in the area.

Keep in mind that all is made by hand and locally produced so many people will benefit from this Project.
Like:
Rocks, quarry,bricks cut and made by hand.
The concrete all mixed by hand,no machine involved.
Just collected the door frames made in our workshop.
It's going very well 👍👍
