En su práctica, la artista Karla Leyva interroga las relaciones entre identidad y realidad presentes en las convenciones estéticas actuales. Desde ellas se observan las influencias en la representación del cuerpo humano así como aparatos tecnológicos que ambicionan desafiar el paso del tiempo.

Para La era de las apariencias, Leyva nos lleva al corazón de esas problemáticas y propone una experiencia sensorial, que tiene como tela de fondo la complejidad de la imagen en sus formas actuales. Compartida constantemente, la imagen compite con el plano fotográfico y borra cada vez más su aura documental para deslizarse hacia una variedad de existencias, hacia una transformación constante.

Twilight Chorus is a group exhibition co-curated by and , a Mexican-based organization run by . The exhibition includes works of Mariana Garibay Raeke, Ilana Harris-Babou, Circe Irasema, Héctor Jiménez Castillo, Mario Navarro and Marco Rountree. Most works were commissioned for this exhibition.
As the sun recedes below the horizon, a soft and uncertain glowing light permeates the landscape. The twilight - an in-between and temporally ambiguous moment, only lasts a few minutes. At this time, the small and almost invisible creatures of the natural realm become most active: they leave their hiding place to bustle into the night and dance into the air, waters and forests.
Twilight Chorus evokes a phantasmagorical landscape where the works’ musical and choreographic forms are revealed. The selected pieces have varying textures and expressive qualities that unveil the vibrancy and liveliness of materiality. They are visual poetries whose forms playfully and gracefully twirl and swirl, like the ballerina’s elegant movements. Their lightness, fragility and reflectivity appear, disappear and morph upon viewers’ phenomenological encounter with the works, making their performative function ephemeral and transitory, just like the dancer’s arrhythmic breath. Caught in their élan vital, Twilight Chorus is a suspended moment in time.

Be a Pattern for the World is a “think-tank” collaboration : a “decentralized, leaderless group that both generates and distributes propaganda in the form of actual images or words and concepts that generate mental images”. Using the metaphorical figure of chameleon, the artists explore the concept of “camouflage” and his” shape-shifting and adaptability strategies”.

Piscine is formed by Mark Tholander, Jens Settergren, Ida S.Thorhauge and based in Copenhagen, Danemark.
Aeron Bergman and Alejandra Salinas are an artist duo based in Portland, Oregon.

This video is a conversation between the artist and the voice of the poem Boom boom, run run, a text that proposes the cultural history of the sneaker, a symbol of sportswear. During this discussion, the voice of the poem is embodied by a gloved hand.

Pierre Paulin was born in 1982 in Grenoble, France. He lives and works in Paris, France.
