Monk Armchair: Cabana Special Edition
First introduced into the Molteni&C Collection in 1973, the Monk armchair by Tobia Scarpa is a special-edition piece designed in collaboration with Cabana Magazine.
An elegant fusion of 20th-century design and modernity, the Monk armchair integrates seamlessly into contemporary spaces, introducing old-world charm and refined simplicity.
Monk’s American walnut frame creates a sturdy foundation for the natural hide leather backrest, further complemented by a red panel and a laser-cut rattan webbing motif inspired by traditional Viennese cane weaving.

Classic and contemporary in equal measure, the Monk armchair by Tobia Scarpa is a special-edition collaboration with Cabana Magazine.
First introduced into the Molteni&C Collection in 1973, the re-edition Monk armchair’s design preserves its modernist spirit while effortlessly incorporating Cabana’s poetic decorative sensibility. The rich American walnut and natural hide leather create an elegant dialogue with traditional Viennese cane weaving, inspired by iconic 20th-century design.
A red panel on the backrest highlights the laser-cut rattan webbing motif, seamlessly marrying heritage craftsmanship with a modern, playful twist.
