Ishielu Good Governance Initiative -IGGI

PROJECTS OF MINISTRY OF WATER RESOURCES UNDER THE ADMINISTRATION OF ENGR. DAVID NWEZE UMAHI.

*WATER RETICULATION:
The ministry has reticulated distance covering over 20km, using different sizes of HDPE pipes which are the WHO recommended pipes for water distribution. The following streets have been reticulated:

1. Laying from Udensi Junction to FETHA 1and Abakaliki Prisons.
2. Laying of pipes and installation of pipe fittings at Nnorom street.
3. Laying of pipes and installation of pipe fittings at Amagu street.
4. Laying of pipes and installation of pipe fittings in the three Campuses of Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki.
5. Laying of pipes and installation of pipe fittings at Ojiofor street.
6. Laying of pipes and installation of pipe fittings at Sir Otu street.
7. Laying of pipes and installation of pipe fittings at Hilltop road, Abakaliki.
8. Laying of pipes and installation of pipe fittings in Government House, Abakaliki.
9. Laying of pipes and installation of pipe fittings at Udensi Quarters 1and 2.
10. Laying of pipes and installation of pipe fittings in Police Headquarters, Abakaliki.
11. Laying of pipes and installation of pipe fittings from Lowlift to Highlift off old Abakaliki water Scheme.
12. Construction of battery taps with platforms at FETHA 1, Abakaliki Prison and Police Headquarters.
13. Construction of battery taps with platforms at EBSU permanent site.

COMPLETION OF ON-GOING WATER PROJECTION

The ministry has also completed some on-going water projects inherited from the previous administration.
1. Supervision of the constitution of Iyiokwu Washout Chamber constructed by James JS Construction company.
2. Washing of Oferekpe water transmission line.
3. Completion of the construction and commissioning of Ground and Overhead tank in EBSU permanent site.

TREATMENT PLANT REHABILITATION

The ministry has carried out some minor rehabilitation works in some water scheme.
1. Purchase and installation of (2) panels in Ezillo water scheme.
2. Repair of filter beds in Ezillo water scheme.
3. Repair of 2, 000KVA generator in Ezillo water scheme.
4. Repair of pumps in Ezillo water scheme.

THERE IS ALSO REHABILITATION WORKS AT UBURU WATER SCHEME.

NEW PROJECTS

The ministry has during the period under review been able to design and initiate the construction of new water scheme in Ishiagu in Ivo L.G.A to complement the existing ones.

RURAL WATER SUPPLY

The ministry did not concentrate only in the city but has carried out some water projects in our rural areas.

1. Drilling of motorised borehole at Emmanuel Anglican Church, Ohafia Agba.
2. Repair of about 15 boreholes at Amasiri community of Afikpo L.G.A.
3. Repair of some boreholes at Ndenyim Ndegu community of Ishieke, Ebonyi L.G.A.

The ministry has also carried out inspection of broken down boreholes in Ubeyi D.C of Afikpo On North L.G.A. plans are ongoing to repair them.

Tracing the sakamori line that was layed to supply water to Ezza South and Ikwo L.G.As. presently, plans are ongoing to energize the pipelines.

THE RIGHT CHOICE BEFORE ISHIELU DELEGATES

I am Barr. Emmanuel Nnabuike Nwite.
I am not a Career Politician. I am only but a Leader.
I earnestly desire to contribute my own quota and wealth of Experience and knowledge to ameliorate the Human Condition of our neglected and disadvantaged communities of Ishielu LGA of Ebonyi State.
If by the Special Grace of God I'm elected the Flagbearer of PDP by the delegates in the forthcoming Primary Elections for the Chairmanship Election in Ishielu LGA on 22/02/2020 and eventually chosen by the Electorate of Ishielu to lead them as their Chairman come 25/04/2020, I am going to leverage on my wide range of networks and connections to mobilize resources to be used to make our LGA a better Place.
Above all, my leadership team is going to consolidate and improve on the Peace process which our peace-loving Governor has initiated in Ishielu LGA. We will continue to co-operate with critical stakeholders in our Great Party PDP and the LGA to provide goal-oriented leadership service to the masses. We are going to involve community and Town Unions Leaders in decision making as regards developmental projects and programmes through regular Town Hall meetings. Because Power belongs to the people, we will always carry them along.

I am very hopeful and optimistic that come Saturday 22/02/2020, the PDP delegates from Ishielu will be wise enough to make the right decision. I believe that the PDP delegates from Ishielu LGA will be patriotic enough to judge rightly the antecedents and pedigrees of all the aspirants for the Chairmanship of Ishielu LGA. I have no doubts that the delegates will make the right choice. And their Right Choice is Barr. Emmanuel Nwite.
