Nigeria minus Corruption = Nigeria multiplied by Greatness

28/07/2015

A major index in leadership analysis is intent. Intent is a determinant in classification of leaders.
A doesn't need to be a genius, brilliant or super intelligent to be classified among the great.
A leaders with the right intent, even though intellectually deficient will assemble the best of brains and steer them with his intent to glory.
Intent rather than achievements is what makes a leader to be reckoned with as great... Abraham Lincoln for instance has not much to his name in terms of achievement (due to the short span of his reign) but the Americans could see his intent. Hence, he is classified among the greatest in American leadership.
To be a great leader, just ask yourself.... What is my intent for my followers? If you get right there, then you are almost 70% done

SHOULD PRESIDENT BUHARI TRAVEL TO USA WITH HIS SON?
The inclusion of President Muhamadu Buhari's son on the presidential entourage to the USA has been generating debate lately.
Looking at the specifics of this trip, we could ascertain that PMB son inclusion will be at no extra cost to Nigeria. How? The president traveled with his presidential jet of which cost is fixed irrespective of the number of people on board. The other expenses on trips of this nature are always estacode and accommodation. The accommodation burdens had taken off Nigeria by Obama hosting of PMB in Blair's house. The young man cannot claim any estacode we all know that. So where's extra cost coming from???
However, the functionality and rational for the young man involvement in such trip of national significance is what calls for question. Particularly, judging from the perception of PMB.
While it might not be of significant significance now, we at DNA are puzzled and rattled because it may be a pointer to future abuse of office. We need to talk now to prevent scenario where some African leaders and even some governors in Nigeria appointed their children into public office while still in government

While many including we at DNA celebrate the visit of PMB to the USA and the special honour extended towards him by Obama, a cursory look at the it all would create a hollow within the deeps. Since 1999, Nigerian leaders had cultivated the habit of jetting abroad (mostly the west) at the slightest of opportunities. Yet, we remain in the woods. They always achieve but such achievements are rather too little compared to the efforts; obj era it was debt relief. GEJ era it was foreign direct investment. Now PMB era it's most likely be insurgency and recovery of looted funds. Well, these are good but are they the best agenda and approach. This is our thoughts on this matter; if Nigeria will go out of the woods, there's a need redirect our focus and expand our scope of friendship to include not only the developed countries but also the countries just getting out of the woods with undoubtedly clear path to greatness. Our leaders need to go compare notes with Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai etc. This is because all these western developed countries are producing than they can utilize and they need where to sell them. Hence, they will never want to show us the right path to greatness

Gradually like the principle of aerodynamics PMB is giving definition and direction Nigerian state. The administration is gathering momentum. By now all the people criticising Buhari to be too slow must be having serious rethink judging from the actions of last week. Many of such critiques now will be praying silently for the old man to slow down because by the time all these people are completely fired, the next thing will be operation recovery of looted funds. PMB we are waiting

After all said and done, the 2015 presidential election has been keenly contested, gloriously won and gallantly won (lost). I said gallantly won because there's no loser per se in this election looking at the legacy that this election bequeathed to Nigerian nationhood and our democracy and sense of pride to the people. To the President elect, this is another proof that good name is worth more than gold and that persistence has its rewards. But I want sound a note that there's is no luxury of time because the people have endured much and the expectations are high. So, GMB must hit the ground running. Above all, there's only one true winner in this contest: THE AVERAGE NIGERIANS whose vote is counting and whose prayers for PEACE had been answered. Our thanks is to prof. Atahiru Jega and the like minds in INEC and the erudite scholars who served as collation officers in the 36 states and FCT (not forgetting the comedian returning officer for RIVERS state) while all glory, honour and adoration be to almighty GOD whose special love for NIGERIA knows no bound. Congratulations Nigerians. Long live Nigeria
