LET ME SAY THIS LOUDLY: MOTHERHOOD IS A BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE, BUT IS IT REALLY AN ACHIEVEMENT? 😭💔
Please, don’t misunderstand me. I love my children, and I don’t regret having them. But sometimes, we need to tell ourselves the truth about motherhood.
I’ve been down since morning. Today is Monday, and I’ve been battling serious body pains and headaches. I haven’t even made a single post today. But guess what? I still have to find the strength to care for my children.
Their father is right beside me, but there is only so much he does. He can carry the baby, play with the baby, and scatter everywhere. But when the baby cries, I’m the one being told to change the diaper. When it’s time to feed the baby, I’m still the one expected to do it. And when everywhere is scattered, the sick mother is still expected to put things in order.
So, where is the partnership we always talk about in marriage?
Is providing financially all that fatherhood requires? What happens when the mother is sick, exhausted, and desperately needs someone to care for her too?
A mother is human, not a machine!
People talk about the joy of giving birth, but they don’t always talk about the pain, the sacrifices, the sleepless nights, the loss of personal time, and how silently some women lose themselves while raising children.
And please, imagine mothers who have toddlers and are already pregnant again. Imagine women giving birth year after year while trying to raise the children they already have. How do they cope? Who takes care of them?
Sometimes, I wonder whether motherhood is truly an achievement or simply a beautiful, painful experience that society has taught women to celebrate without questioning the sacrifices it demands.
Because honestly, giving birth alone is not enough. Raising children takes so much more than bringing them into the world.
And to the children who grow up to say, “Am I the one who asked you to give birth to me?” That statement can break a mother’s heart. Sadly, not every child will appreciate the sacrifices their parents made.
I am not saying I regret having my children. Far from it! When I look at them, the love I feel is indescribable. It’s like your heart is walking outside your body. ❤️
But loving my children doesn’t mean I should pretend that motherhood is easy.
MOTHERS NEED HELP. MOTHERS NEED REST. MOTHERS NEED TO BE CARED FOR, TOO!
Dear husbands, your wives need more than financial provision. When she’s sick, step in. Change the diapers. Feed the baby. Clean up the mess. Let her rest without feeling guilty.
Fatherhood is not just about bringing children into the world or paying the bills. It is about actively raising them.
Maybe motherhood is an achievement to you, and I respect that. But for me, giving birth is a beautiful experience, while raising children is a lifelong responsibility that should never rest on one person’s shoulders alone.
My fellow mothers, please tell me the truth: Am I the only one who feels this way? 🥹❤️
