Wishing everyone a happy and inspiring new year, one I hope is filled with many joyful moments for you to treasure. I was thankful to spend the closing days of 2025 in the atmospheric woods of the Schwarzwald in Münstertal, Germany. Just long, breathtaking walks through frozen scenes of majestic silence, where the only movement came from breaking light and drifting mist. In that stillness, everything seemed to have a poetic presence, as if nature itself, like me, had also withdrawn into retreat. It was a beautiful reconnection.

I’ve always been fascinated by abstract forms and techniques. Braiding offers so many possibilities, not just in the technique itself, but also in the structures it can create. This curiosity led to my earlier research into braiding structures, and the WOVEN BRAIDS series is one of the results from that process. The weave itself is flat, so to create a sense of dimension and movement, I played with colours and gradients within the bindings.
For the WOVEN BRAIDS Tea Towel Collection 2026, I’ve created six new colours composed into three duo sets: Natural Contrast, Fresh Harmony and Joyful Play. To discover more, head on over to the link in my bio.

Introducing the WOVEN BRAIDS Tea Towel Collection 2026. Six new colours composed into three curated duo sets: Natural Contrast, Fresh Harmony and Joyful Play.
WOVEN BRAIDS is a graphic pattern inspired by basket weaving, developed with an optical 3D effect. In each weave, two carefully selected yarn colours interact to create a quiet, changeant shimmer. Part of the permanent collection of the Stewart Program for Modern Design in Canada, this series offers a wonderful opportunity to bring a piece of my studio practice into everyday rituals.
A thoughtful gift or a refined touch for your own home, I hope they bring you the same quiet joy in daily life that I felt while creating them. Discover the new duo sets via the link in my bio.
