Ed Cruikshank for Louis Vuitton
Recently I was asked to work alongside Louis Vuitton’s design team to create pieces for their new Queenstown store.
The concept was a departure from their usual international style. They asked me to make pieces that would have a 'Mountain Resort’ character.
I used unbelievably beautiful ancient Kauri from New Zealand's North Island and balanced this with 150 year old local Mountain Beech for the elegant, seemingly untouched low tables. A pair of my signature club chairs flank a sheepskin sofa next to the contemporary fireplace.
It was an extraordinary honour to be invited to collaborate with the worlds most valuable luxury brand here in my home town and in a totally authentic way where our shared values of absolute quality and longevity have
come together harmoniously.

Campaign Chest by Ed Cruikshank.
Designed for a global traveller to house and protect his most treasured possessions. This Walnut campaign chest with hand-stitched leather and machined stainless steel carrying handles is made in two halves. Every one of the 150 dovetail joints in the piece was cut by hand in the traditional way.

Architect Club Chair
With a linear character punctuated by a subtle curved back, the Architect Club Chair gives extremely comfortable back support. It sits on a robust swiveling mechanism and is also available on a rocking base or simple timber feet. It can also be extended to a sofa.

Cruikshank undertook the entire refurbishment of this penthouse apartment specifically designed and detailed to house artworks. The owner requested just one bespoke furniture piece be designed to provide several functions. The resulting design housed a desk, dining table, kitchen appliances and hand cut dove-tail drawers

Motor Yacht VvS - another fabulous commission we were lucky to be a part of. Cruikshank design a number of pieces of furniture and a custom light fitting for the dining and living saloons of this award-winning motor yacht built by Alloy Yachts in New Zealand.

Bespoke Bookcase by CRUIKSHANK
Integral to this Cruikshank designed home, the pair of bookcases run the entire length of the gallery.
Proportioned to create a balanced yet asymmetrical structure the apertures were carefully detailed to house an extraordinary collection of reference books, artworks and artefacts.

CRUIKSHANK COLLECTION - CLUB ROCKER
Hand-made to order the joyously comfortable Club Rockerís carefully considered ergonomics give excellent lumbar and neck support. With a sprung interior the chair is also available in an extra large size and the rockers can be substituted for a swiveling base or fixed timber feet.
