Colors of Hope
Colors of Hope was designed to reinvent inclusive access to education by bringing classrooms to the It can be given outside the four walls of the classroom.

This is a great challenge that needs to be overcome because this difference has always been the root cause of inequality and one of the many factors that affect cyclical poverty. With that said idea, education should always be at the forefro

April 29, 2017 Kalsada Klasrum
Paano Tumirik?
Colors of Hope Volunteers had a rough journey to Ipil, Marikina as their vehicle broke down while on the way. After almost a 2 hour delay and even with all the difficulties, believe us, no one can stop them from reaching the kids!
After the reading session the rest of the day was dedicated for Climate/ Environment Literacy. Hurray for the environment!
And Calvin... Of course, cute as always.

"Listen to me Morty, I know that new situations can be intimidating. You're looking around and it's all scary and different. But you know meeting them head on, charging right into them like a bull, that's how we grow as people. Sometimes you gotta take em risks, make sure you take it with those who you trust the most." - Rick Sanchez (Rick & Morty)
Just like grandpa Rick, young leaders from Team AYLA shows out-of-school children a whole new perspective on how to view learning. This approach would hopefully encourage a reduced drop-out-rate in schools. Education is indeed a tool out of poverty and Team AYLA believes that being literate and educated means planning for your future.
As an innovation to providing quality education to impoverished communities, young leaders from Team AYLA came up with the Colors of Hope Education and Enrichment Program. This was designed under the belief that education is borderless, corner-less and unrestricted. It can be given outside the four walls of the classroom.
Colors of hope brings education to the streets by:
1) transforming abandoned, vandalized, or damaged walls into vibrant learning spaces
2) mobilizing Jeepneys with volunteers becoming mobile classrooms where we teach out-of-school children basic functional, environmental and financial literacy skills and;
3) Engaging the private sector to fund Community Development and Education Scholarships of the program's out-of-school youth beneficiaries by putting learning spaces into an auction, not only bringing formal education within reach but also contributing to a global initiative on financing the Post-2015 development agenda for the youth.
Colors of Hope aims to influence both policy and culture of education in the Philippines. With these learning spaces as "street blackboards", Education Jeepneys with volunteers are mobilized (street classrooms) and you get a school zone.
Our lobby to local government units is to consider our "kalsada klasrums" or street classrooms as school zones where the out-of-school youth learners are provided alternative learning programs and receive accreditation for at least the equivalent of a high school education, fulfilling their dreams and aspirations.
Wish to be part of an innovative volunteer program? We will start accepting volunteers and donations soon. Keep posted!
