AGRI-EXTENSION ON WHEELS: E-LEARNING
Empowering the youth through digital agriculture!
The Office of the Municipal Agriculturist of Bagumbayan, through its Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center, successfully facilitated the Agri-Extension on Wheels E-Learning Activity with the students of Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) – Bagumbayan Campus as participants.
The activity was warmly welcomed by Dr. Paul Ryan L. Oñas, Campus Director, reflecting the campus's support for initiatives that promote learning, innovation, and agricultural development among the youth.
The activity was spearheaded by the Book Club and 4-H Club, under the guidance of their dedicated adviser, Ma’am Jessa Mae M. Gandalla, RL, MLIS.
Serving as the resource person was Ma’am Zerlein Maricarl M. Clarete of the Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI) Regional Training Center XII, Information Services Section (ISS). She discussed the e-Extension and Digital Farmers Program (DFP), highlighting the importance of digital platforms and information technology in providing access to agricultural knowledge, innovations, and learning opportunities.
The activity was facilitated by the FITS Center team, led by FITS Manager Lochie L. Loraña and FITS Staff Jen, Jr. M. Cabaylo, in support of promoting digital literacy and strengthening the involvement of the youth in modern agriculture.
Through initiatives like this, we continue to encourage students to embrace technology, explore agricultural innovations, and become future advocates of a more productive, sustainable, and technology-driven agricultural sector.
