**The watchmaker FORTIN, was the watchmaker of the KINGThe Fortins formed one of the most famous dynasties of Parisian watchmakers in the 18th century. Established rue de la Harpe in the north of the Latin Quarter, not far from the Sorbonne, Nicolas Fortin active in 1705, then one of his sons, Augustin I, received in 1726, ran the family workshop. michel (1726-1780) son of Augustin I, continued the activity then handed it over to his son Augustin II, received in 1769.
