The song “生僻字 Shēngpì zì" is a song sung by Chinese singer Ke yu Chen. There are more than 70 uncommon words used in this song.

生僻字（Shēngpì zì）means uncommon words, refer to Chinese characters that are rarely used and even difficult to verify in both pronounce and meaning. They are also called dead words.

Never mind if you really don’t understand these characters. Just keep in mind to avoid using them when naming for a person.

When it comes to Chinese culture, people think of the food. When it comes to the Mid-Autumn Festival, people think of the mooncakes. Eating mooncake in the Mid-Autumn Festival is an unique Chinese custom. But, don’t eat too much as it is high calorie food. One piece of mooncake equals to 2.5 bowls of rice. It contains a lot of oil and sugar. An adult should eat about 2,000 calories a day, but there are 700 calories in a piece of mooncake. Therefore, if you want to keep fit, you should eat as less mooncakes as you can.

The doctor suggests that it is proper to eat half a moon cake for a meal. In addition, you need to exercise more to consume the extra calories you gained from the mooncakes.

你吃月餅了嗎？
說到中華文化，人們就想到美食。說到中秋節，人們就想到月餅。月餅是華人在中秋節吃的傳統點心。雖然現在我們每天都可以吃得到月餅，不過在中秋節吃特別有氣氛。月餅很好吃，口味也很多，一不小心就會吃過頭了。

不過你知道嗎？月餅可不能吃得太多。因為月餅的原料除了麵粉和水以外，還有大量的油和糖，所以是高熱量的食物。一旦吃得太多，很容易就會發胖。成人每天應該攝取的熱量約2000大卡，但是一塊月餅的熱量就高達700大卡，而一碗白飯的熱量也不過才200大卡而已。所以想要維持身材的話，月餅最好要少吃一點。

醫生建議，一餐吃半塊月餅就夠了。另外，你還要多運動，才能夠消耗月餅帶給我們的多餘熱量。

中秋節快樂 Happy Mid-Autumn Festival

The 15th day of the lunar calendar August is the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival. It is a very important traditional festival for the Chinese. We will celebrate this day with our family, just like what we do during the Chinese New Year. The moon in the Mid-Autumn Festival is round which symbolizes “團圓 （Tuányuán）” , meaning reunion. We will share the mooncakes and pomelos with our family while enjoying the moon hung in the sky. In Taiwan, we have another special culture. That is, we will have a BBQ with our family on this day. This year, we will celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival on September 24.

We have a lot of stories about the Mid-Autumn Festival，the well-known one is 嫦娥奔月 （Cháng'é bēn yuè）. Therefore, the ancient Chinese thought that there is a beautiful woman, a big tree and a bunny on the moon. But after the American astronauts visited the moon, we discovered that there was nothing over there. I feel a little sad because those stories about the moon are not true. However, the most important thing in the Mid-Autumn Festival is our family. We can celebrate this interesting festival with our family. What a happy day it is.

農曆的八月十五日是華人的中秋節，對華人來說是一個很重要的傳統節日。和春節一樣，我們會跟家人一起慶祝這個日子。中秋節的月亮又圓又漂亮，象徵著一家團圓，我們會和家人一起，一邊欣賞天上的月亮，一邊吃著月餅和柚子。在台灣，我們還有一個特別的文化，那就是在中秋節的時候跟家人一起來烤肉。今年，我們會在九月二十四日慶祝中秋節。

我們有很多關於中秋節的故事，其中最著名的是嫦娥奔月的故事。因此，古代的中國人總認為月亮上面住著一位仙女，長著一顆大樹，還有一隻可愛的小兔子。但是美國的太空人去了月亮以後，我們才發現那裡什麼都沒有。我覺得有點難過，因為那些關於月亮的故事都不是真的，但是中秋節最重要的，還是我們的家人。我們可以和家人一起慶祝這個有趣的節日，真的是太幸福了。
