TEEN ACNE — IT’S MORE THAN SKIN DEEP.

Teenage years bring BIG hormonal changes. Increased oil production, inflammation and clogged pores can all contribute to acne—but we also like to look at what’s happening inside the body.

The liver helps process hormones, while the gut-skin axis connects gut health with skin health. An imbalance in gut bacteria, along with certain food sensitivities or dietary triggers, may contribute to inflammation and breakouts.

For inside support, we love:
Milk Thistle — traditionally used to support healthy liver function. (Gaia)
Beef Organ Supplements — naturally rich in vitamins + minerals needed for normal metabolic pathways. (Heart and soil)
Sheep Pancreas - rich in minerals and also supports blood sugar balance and the production of stomach acid (supreme nutrition)- also consider fermented foods for beneficial bacteria
+
We have to look at hormones, gut health, inflammation and diet when addressing acne—not just what we put on the skin.

Then we support from the OUTSIDE:

WALNUT ESSENCE — super-fine ground walnut shell gently exfoliates buildup + dead skin that can clog pores.

GREEN TEA CLEAN — jojoba, calendula, black cumin seed oil + tea tree essential oil to cleanse, soothe and nourish problem-prone skin. Tea tree also has antimicrobial + antifungal properties.

Sometimes teen skin doesn’t need MORE products—it needs a simple routine while we support the body from within. I would not over do it, a couple times a week is plenty. Sweat/athletics I would increase usage. Our Makeup Begone Wipes are also a great product….the lemongrass and castile soap is cleansing and uplifting…and it will take off make up great for the girls!! Manuka Honey for the win with Acne as well. Need a serum that’s acne approved?! We have a watermelon seed serum, cold pressed organic that will deeply nourish and not clog pores for those sensitive or acne prone.

CLEANSE. EXFOLIATE. NOURISH. SUPPORT.

Always check with your teen’s healthcare provider before adding supplements.

Black Draw is a poultice that is formulated to draw out the infection from a scratch or the poison from a bug bite, it has been used for ages and truly works. The ingredients promote healing to a bug bite, keep inflammation down, provide a natural antibiotic, a natural anti-fundal---and it pulls out objects such as splinters , stickers, or toxins form the body. This mixture of ingredients is also an awesome teeth whitener. Say no-no to the prescribed antibiotic and naturally cure ouchies. The Black Draw can be used as a facial detox or a weekly teeth-whitener, you simply apply a small dab on your tooth brush, brush for 2 minutes and spit in trash.
