I am in love with how the addition of wainscoting elevates this dining room. ——> swipe for before to see the full effect

I had a chance to go by the house where I built this custom whiskey shelf. Still looking classy! When they reached out to me about this project, I more-than-tripled this collectors existing shelf space with this built-in design. The cabinet doors are handmade with love, and each piece of hardware is chosen carefully to pull together the speakeasy vibe in a MCM parlor. Hate to toot my own horn but this project is so cute ☺️

Custom cherry and maple cutting board for a dedicated chef and mother. By request, this end-grain cutting board spans the depth of the counter with a maple lip on the front to prevent it from slipping back. I love projects that get my shirt dusty

This is my 100th post. Today, I am grateful for all of the people in my life who have supported, encouraged, and loved my work. I am so far from who I was when I created this instagram, and I had no idea at that time how a social media account could connect me with so many wonderful people. It truly changed my life to simply say, Hey I make things. I am proud of this Western Red Cedar privacy accent wall that and I just built in Virginia Highland, and here it is!

I am so grateful to do what I love. I feel so much joy helping people by doing what I do best and using skills that come easily to me. To bring dreams down to earth and make them reality makes me feel like a magician. I dont care that it sounds cheesy and cliché because the fire in my heart that drives me is burning ❤️‍🔥

Big thanks to for taking interest in our collective fabrication shop and going the extra mile to include my dog in this photoshoot, for creating a space that feels comfortable to work in as a woman-bodied human, and including me in this opportunity, and for capturing these moments so artfully.

These photos arrived in my inbox two months ago, and though I was thrilled, I couldn’t bring myself to share them. I created this account to offer a curated selection of my life - the things I make for myself and for other people, a celebration of my successes. It’s on-brand for this account to show you how good I am doing. But, like most people in this world, I am not always doing good.

Today, I want to do something different with a post. I want to honor my (and for many of you, our) late friend, Leijia Hanrahan, whose life came to a peaceful close at the turn of this month. It pains me to inscribe sincere thoughts here into digital characters, words that can never do the heavy waves of emotions justice. Leijia was someone who could skillfully conjure words to break open a thick silence when no one else knew quite what to say. She was a fiery woman with a sharp tongue and a burning sense of humor. She inspired me with her vitality and intelligence and heart and yet she, too, felt the pain and weight of the universe.

I want to inspire you, and I am thrilled by every loving message I receive by a stranger or friend, with a question or a picture of a project. It brings me so much joy and meaning to life. I have to confess, and I want you to know, that I too feel the weight of the universe and that for every expression of joy, I also experience an equal and opposite pain. Behind every success lies just as many (if not more) failures. There is power within me, just like there is power within you, if we harness it. Some days, I wake up and drink a glass of water so that other days I can wake up and build a table. The reflex to choose life is like a muscle to build and train every day, to pursue what gives joy but also to share our pain because it’s real, it’s there and the best antidote is company🖤

New favorite project over here! A request came to me to transform this back deck with an open shelter to create more outdoor space even in the rain and intense sun. The design was a little complicated because the roofline of the house alone the deck edge is actually quite low. Together with my partner, we designed a flyover roof that meets the desired parameters of the project and allowed for us to go quite high with the roof, a perfect choice for our tall homeowner. I am in love with the choice to go with rustic, rough sawn CEDAR wood. It smells SO good and the 20 ft red beams draw your eyes around gracefully. The greatest honor of a compliment I can receive on a project is “Wow this is more beautiful than I ever imagined” and that is exactly what was said to us during the final walkthrough 🥹☺️🥰
