Our Country Finishes are now available on YOUR existing furniture!!
The Louden Furniture Country Paints Finishes are some of the highest quality and most authentic looking in the business ... we are now offering that same reproduction technique applied to your existing furniture! It is really amazing how the right paint can transform a "dated", ordinary or unattractive piece of furniture into something that really breaths new life to the piece as an "antique" and new purpose ... and for a fraction of the cost of buying something new solely for aesthetic reasons.
Here are a couple of examples but please also look at our FB page and website for other examples of the high quality finishes we can reproduce on your furniture!

Beautiful primitive table made in Dawsonville,GA by The Woodworks Furniture Co. this is a vintage heirloom piece with great patina! Come on by The Checker Berry Shoppe in Bowden! 03/28/2025

I ran across this video online and was amazed to see it was stamped "The Woodworks"! The Woodworks is a company I started in the very early '90's which eventually became Louden Furniture - I was doing primarily antique restoration then but also built some of my earliest one of a kind custom reproduction's during those years ... this table has to be from that time period as the stamp predates the craftsman's label that I started using in the mid- late '90's. Its great to see its still around!!

I do not remember this particular table or who it was built for so I cant tell you much about it other than it is mortise and tenon jointed with breadboard ends - im sure it has shrink blocks attaching the top ... the lady who owns says she believes it is built in pine and since I put breadboard ends on it, I assume it is reclaimed "Heart of Pine" or I wouldn't have done that - it is also possible it could be cherry ... she also said it is still "extremely sturdy" after all these years! :)
I guess its had an interesting journey to get to this antique shop in Bowden, GA near the Alabama/Georgia line. The owner found it in a movie prop warehouse in Jonesboro, GA and I'm sure I must have build it for a client in North GA somewhere.

It is for sale for $350.00 and that's a great deal! The dimensions are 63.25”L. x 32”W x 30”H and has an "antique patina" which means it might need refinishing.

Anyway, I thought I'd pass on this bit of Louden Furniture history in the event someone might have a need for it in that area ... it is certainly one of the very first colonial kitchen tables I built - and it has a pretty interesting story with it as well!

… this was a custom order for a wonderful customer and the first time we’ve built one as a standing wall cabinet. It really turned out nice! … so nice that I will probably add it as a permanent option to the Kennedy webpage 😃

The ART in "the Art of Craftsmanship" is fairly obvious in our finishes and designs - but the CRAFTSMANSHIP part may not be as obvious to see. Most of our furniture is built using solid stock and old methods of construction / much like actual antique furniture was built - these are in almost all cases, much more complex, difficult and time consuming than modern joinery - but so much more durable and why our furniture will outlast the others by far.
This simple trestle bench leg an example of some of that hidden quality and craftsmanship that you would never know was there - but this bench will last 100+ yrs because of the time, intricacy and pride that was put into its construction.
